3DPrintingCampWI 2012 will take place at Sector67 on Saturday, July 21st, 2012 from 8am to 9pm. You don’t have to attend the entire day, but you certainly can!

Target participants for 3DPrintingCampWI are:

  • 3D printer owners and users
  • Manufacturers, vendors and other organizations in the 3D printing ecosystem
  • Rapid prototypers and product designers
  • People highly interested in 3D printing and personal advanced manufacturing
  • Hackers, Makers and DIY people who want to learn more about 3D printing

What is 3DPrintingCampWI? It’s a participant-driven unconference focused on the emerging technology of 3D printing. For more info about what an unconference is, check out the Wikipedia entry.

The main thing to know about unconferences is that there are no ‘attendees,’ only participants. Everyone who comes to the event is expected to make it better in some way; helping organize it, being a sponsor for the event, helping run the event on July 21, leading a session at the event, asking good questions and learning, sharing what you know and learning from other participants and starting some new relationships with interesting people you meet. Other tech unconferences in Wisconsin include BarCampMilwaukee, BarCampMadison¬†(also known as MadCamp)and DamCamp (in Beaver Dam).

The event is free!

Like many unconferences, there is no registration or participation fee for 3DPrintingCampWI 2012.  This is made possible by the generosity of the event sponsors (contact Bob Waldron if interested in sponsoring, bwaldron [att] gmail {dott} com), by the planning and diligence of event coordinators and by the hard work of all the volunteers who make things happen on July 21.
